Obedience Training Massachusetts
NOW OFFERING GROUP CLASSES!
Does your dog pull on the leash? Bark at other dogs when walking? Jump on family and friends? Steal food?
Something is out of balance, and I can help restore it.
In the canine world, where “pack rule” is orderly and predictable, dogs respect and respond to a leader. In the domestic world of homes, parents, kids and neighbors, dogs still expect for a leader to emerge.
If you don’t take this role, the dog will. Whether you are raising a puppy or are attempting to integrate an older dog into your home, the cues YOU send play a big role in how well and how quickly the animal adapts.
This is why my holistic approach to training dogs includes not just the pet, but the owner. My obedience training programs are available for all ages of dog, and can include one owner or an entire family. In each program, we set rules and boundaries for what the animal can and can’t do.
Because dogs understand physical commands rather than yelling, we teach clear communication through body language first, and then verbal cues. These are tools you will use for a lifetime with your pet.
Here are the three main programs Atlantic K9 offers.
Private Housecalls and Lessons – Four to Six individual sessions
In these courses, I teach you how to train your dog. I work with you to communicate the fundamental obedience commands — come, sit, stay, down, and no — in a calm and reassuring leadership style. Privates are good for people who like one on one training in there own home also for dogs that may have behavior problems that need to be treated more individually.
Boot Camp – Two to four weeks
During this program, your dog lives with me at my training center for two to four weeks. I train the dog to respond to physical and verbal commands. Once the training is complete, I include lessons that teach you how to use the same commands at home.
Group Class – 6 weeks of basic obedience class where you and your dog learn the basic commands to communicate (sit, stay, come, heel, and down). We will also go over good dog manners and bad dog manners. This class is designed to teach leadership qualities thru basic training and learn more on how to communicate to your dog clearly.
