Russell, our 9 month old CavaPooChon starting showing aggressive resource guarding behavior at age 6 months. He growled and tried to nip anyone who came close to that which he was guarding; be it a sock, his crate, a rug, or a person.  He growled and showed his teeth, an act of dominance and aggression every time my husband walked by our bathroom door if I was in that room. He would nip at peoples toes under the table if they came near him guarding his “rug” or “space”. 

[After working with Atlantic K9], Russell is now not only very obedient and way less aggressive, he is happy!  He seems so much happier with the people in our house knowing what to do and knowing how to respond. He understands his place, his family’s place, what is acceptable, and what is not. He loves to learn, so he enjoys all the training. He enjoys the time I spend with the techniques Atlantic K9 taught me to use. His resource guarding is significantly less. He happily releases a sock when told. He will growl occasionally, but a stern “No” command makes him stop.  He has not shown any serious aggressive behavior and is now responding to our verbal cues.

He is a new dog. Obedient, Happy, Safer. We are aware we must always be on top of training him. This training for our dog is lifelong, but as I mentioned, he is smart and interactive, so he wants to do that heel command and leave it command everyday. Following directions that are clear make him very happy.
