Kevin is a 3 year old beagle mix who has serious FOMO and struggles to remain calm anytime something exciting is going on. He is wild and has been described as a frat boy ripping keg stands. When we first adopted him there was a lot of nipping, demand barking and generalized anxiousness that only got worse with time. After his first board and train in Boston his behavior improved but Covid hit and suddenly I was home with him 24/7. Working was a struggle because he’d bark at me every time I sat down. We did some virtual training for about a year that helped tremendously and then we moved outside Boston without a clue as to what daycares existed around the North Shore. He attended a standard run til you drop daycare for a year and started to pick up some of his old habits and we became desperate for a program that would exercise Kevin’s brain while he attended and improve his behavior. 

I was on my way to get coffee with a friend when I drove by Atlantic K9. The facility alone was unreal; outside, lush green fields. Like the nicest boarding school for dogs you could possibly imagine. Before I got to my destination I looked them up and fired off an email to inquire. I received a very fast response and follow up call within a week to discuss the board and train program. Kathleen was very patient with all my questions and I felt confident Atlantic K9 was the place for Kevin. He went to bootcamp and came back a new dog. The two follow up lessons were so important to attend to really understand what he had learned while at bootcamp and what I needed to do to ensure he didn’t slip back into old habits. The entire Atlantic K9 staff is so patient, kind and communicative that it eases all of my concerns about boarding him there and sending him to daycare. He has been to a lot of different programs and hands down Atlantic K9 is the best. I know he is in good hands and continues to thrive even more each time he goes. 

We have him out in Minnesota right now and we just had a family reunion with 25 people. He was a perfectly well behaved pup even with copious amounts of food and people around that would have in the past provided a lot of opportunity for chaos. And the best part is he can be off leash and I am confident in his recall. That has been a huge relief for us because prior to Atlantic K9, he had no recall. So thank you to the team at Atlantic K9 for nailing all of our goals for Kevin. 10/10 recommend!!!
