We originally reached out to Atlantic K9 because we were desperate to help our 8 month old Aussie-Doodle fit in with our family. We had met with a private trainer, who would come out to our house for lessons several times, and it didn’t make any lasting difference. We also didn’t agree with the techniques the trainer was using and felt like it wasn’t helping Frankenstein to feel safe with us.
Speaking with Kathleen on the phone was incredibly reassuring, especially after I explained about our previous training. We were beginning to feel like failure dog parents, and she really encouraged us to trust the process by explaining in-depth how her training program works. Once we brought Frankenstein for his first session, we felt incredibly supported by Jenny, and Frankie took to her immediately.
Bootcamp was truly game changing. Being able to see photos of Frank throughout the process, as well as having open communication via text and a detailed phone call, also helped us see his progress and feel like we made the right choice. Frankenstein came home a happier and calmer dog, and we are so proud of the work he did with Jenny and the other trainers. They transformed our dog from a rambunctious, energetic puppy, into a happy, playful member of our family. One of our biggest concerns was around herding, which he was doing to me and my 3 year old. Since returning home, he no longer herds, responds quickly to verbal commands, and is able to play safely with our child.
He has truly become a part of our family now, and we all feel much safer together and are able to go on all sorts of adventures without anxiety or fear. When we returned for our final session, Frankenstein immediately recognized Jenny and melted right into her – it was so great to see the love he carries for his trainer. We are beyond grateful to Jenny and Atlantic K9!
