I chose Atlantic K9 due to the services I saw they provided. I was looking for a training program that had a behavioral aspect and obedience training instead of just a regular obedience class. My dog ended up doing the bootcamp which allowed the trainers to identify my dog’s fears and what triggered them. I knew Atlantic K9 could also teach me techniques on how to correct/help my dog when she became fearful. I was also drawn towards the off-leash training as my dog had run away a few times and not listened when called back.

Jenny was an AMAZING trainer!! While my dog was at bootcamp, Jenny would call to give me updates and let me know how the dog was doing. My dog was a little more nervous, so after talking with Jenny, I decided to do the 3-week bootcamp, which was great for my dog!! The extra week provided my dog time to settle in and really allowed the trainers to start working on training once she was fully comfortable. On the turn over day, Jenny went over the basic training, what triggers my dog has, and an overview of the training tools. This was great as I got to learn what to do and could see a HUGE difference in my dog. After a week or so, I had my follow up lesson with Jenny, which great! This lesson we got to go out in a regular setting and train my dog!! This was EXTREMELY helpful to me and really reinforced the dogs training as well as my confidence. Jenny again was amazing and very informative. She gave me tips on when to correct the dog as well as the body language to look out for. I really felt this follow up lesson really set everything in stone and allowed me utilize/fully understand the tools that help my dog.

I picked Atlantic K9 because of the training programs they offered. I also liked their approach to training. On my initial call with Jenna, she was extremely informative and listened to my dogs training needs. She explained the different training programs they offered and what my dog may benefit from. I also liked that Atlantic K9 was not pushy or saying you HAVE to do this or that. This was nice as I felt I was not being pressured into anything. I was also concerned about leaving my dog for bootcamp as I would be without my dog during this time. Jenna helped ease this worry as she explained the benefits bootcamp would bring to my dog and that I would also get updates/ daily pictures! I also picked Atlantic K9 as they have daycare which I will be signing my dog up for. This is a very neat daycare as the dog gets to play around but also gets some continued training to reinforce what they learned.

My dog’s name is Nola. She is a Boxer/German Shepherd mix. She is about 11 months old now (was 9 months when she did bootcamp). She was afraid of EVERYTHING and very nervous. She is playful but unsure about new people. After bootcamp, she has warmed up and gained a lot of confidence!! We are still working on her as it does take time, but every day I continue to see her grow and be more confident!! I cannot thank Jenny, Jenna, and the whole crew at Atlantic K9 enough for helping me with Nola! I truly understand what she needs now and how to help her. We can’t wait to see you all again at daycare!!!!
