I contacted Atlantic K9 when I was doing research on bootcamps for my golden retriever puppy, Moose. I had not realized that I had purchased a “field” golden and really needed help. Atlantic K9 came recommended from an acquaintance and I called to check them out. 

My initial phone call with Kathleen really sold it for me. When I told her about Moose, she immediately understood what I needed and was confident that bootcamp would be the right fit for me, my family and Moose. Kathleen explained to me that Moose came from a line of “working” dogs, and needed to be given jobs that would stimulate his brain and calm his temperament. She was so right! 
Before booking, I asked to meet Kathleen and took Moose to see the facility. We met both Jenny and Kathleen, and I knew I was in the right place when Kathleen had Moose under control within 3 minutes. I scheduled his training session the next day! 

We left Moose with Kathleen and the team for two weeks and went away on vacation. Looking at the pictures each day that were posted, we could easily see that Moose was having a wonderful time with his friends and was in constant motion. So many of his pictures were in mid-air! However, having the call with Emmy the trainer really gave us peace of mind and let us know that Moose was in good hands. 
Our first lesson with Emmy was wonderful. She went over some of the training and gave us tips for working with Moose at home. She followed up by phone, email and text and it really felt like we had a coach who really cared about Moose and our progress. Our follow up appointment two weeks later at the house was even better! Emmy helped us with some more advanced training, and Moose is doing so well. We understand what he needs and how to give him tasks and commands to help him “settle” and stimulate him when needed. 

I highly recommend Atlantic K9 and am so glad that we did bootcamp with Kathleen, Emmy and team. The farm is beautiful, Moose was well cared for and it is a comfort to know that we have trusted professionals we can call on if anything comes up. Better still, we have a fabulous place for Moose to stay when we are on vacation. And knowing that his training will continue is a real plus!
