We wanted to adopt a German Shepard puppy, and knew enough about the breed to take their training very seriously.

I found Atlantic K9 online and did the additional research to decide that Kathleen James and her team are the real deal for training. Then I noticed a banner on their website saying they’d just had a litter of German Shepard puppies! And if that wasn’t enough, they also offered daycare and boarding to the dogs they train. What a find! But the training practices and trainers had to be a good fit for us. We are active seniors who haven’t had a puppy in years. What could possibly go wrong-bringing home an 8 week old GSD?? We knew
we would need plenty training and support. Especially me, someone who is sometimes more difficult to train than the dog.

AK9 surpassed all our expectations. First by helping us choose the most beautiful, sweet, smart little girl (from the letter of 10!) Then they took us thru the Bootcamp experience, and the additional personalized training sessions with first class follow-up. The trainers Emmy and Jenny are smart, fun and effective. They also know a lot about dog parents!

We also have another session planned with the owner Kathleen who will take us out and about greeting and not greeting other people and dogs in a busy outdoor setting. I can’t wait to learn the skills for that! We couldn’t possibly be happier.
