We rescued Archie from the slaughter houses in China and quickly realized he had some dog reactivity. He is a 2 year old Golden Retriever who is 85 lbs. He would bark and lunge at other dogs to the point where we did not feel comfortable walking him anywhere besides our quiet neighborhood. In addition, he was overly excited when meeting strangers (jumping, crying, barking). After hours of research, I stumbled across Atlantic K9! Kathleen listened to my explanation of Archie’s behaviors and ultimately recommended the 2 week boot camp for us. I was so relieved and excited that she felt confident in correcting some of Archie’s behaviors with training.

During his stay, I received daily photos of what he was up to! Half way through the training, I spoke with Jenny on the phone for a full update on his progress! At the pick-up appointment, Jenny showed us how to use the new e-collar and prong collar. I was amazed to see the progress that had been made in just 2 weeks!

Now, I am able to take him on walks knowing I have the tools to correct the first signs of reactivity. Our walks are now much more relaxing to the point where I actually look forward to them! I am even able to walk him fully off leash with the use of the e- collar! I was so nervous that this training would change his personality, but it only improved the parts of him we already loved! He is now more behaved when meeting strangers, listens to commands, and even learned some “normal” dog behaviors (playing with toys and rolling in the grass)!

I am so grateful for Jenny, Kathleen, and the entire staff at Atlantic K9! They have truly changed our lives!!
