We rescued our dog Sugar last year when she was about one.  She is a Lab/Shepherd mix and we don’t know much about her history.  We fell in love with her immediately but soon realized that she had some behavioral issues that we needed to address (i.e. pulling on the leash, not listening, barking at other dogs). 

We tried meeting with other trainers for a session here and there but with our busy schedules we couldn’t get any consistency or results.  I had heard about Atlantic K9 from multiple families in our area and what an amazing experience they had had there.  We reached out to Kathleen and after speaking with her knew that if we were going to do this that Atlantic K9 was the place.  We decided to send Sugar to a 2-week bootcamp.  I was nervous at the idea of being away from her for 2-weeks but after meeting the staff there I felt 110% comfortable when we dropped her off and I was happy for her because I knew she was going to love being there.

Every step of the way every member of the staff has been so friendly, helpful and truly interested in making Sugar a happier dog.  The change in her is remarkable-she knows her commands, it’s a pleasure to walk her, she listens to us and she is so much better about barking at other dogs.  We have had all of our sessions before and after bootcamp with Ari and we adore her.  She is so patient with us as dog parents that are new to training, she is incredibly knowledgeable and she truly wanted Sugar (and us) to succeed. 

This whole experience has created an even deeper bond between us and Sugar.  The customer service and professionalism at Atlantic K9 is something you don’t see much anymore in any industry.  We are so grateful to them for turning Sugar into the wonderful dog that we knew she could be-and they did it with kindness, compassion and a true love for dogs.  Can’t recommend them strongly enough!
