My story for seeking you out is probably not a new one but certainly not the new puppy, needs training one that it should have been with a Belgian Malinois. In October of 2020, Reia (3 years old at the time) followed me out to the mailbox and went after a boy on his bicycle. She nipped at his ankle causing bruising but thankfully did not break skin. Nine months later in June 2021, my cousin, whom Reia had never met, came to my house and Reia jumped on her and bit her thigh, requiring a hospital visit and some stitches. I called our veterinarian who sent me a link to Atlantic K9. After a phone interview with Kathleen, I was told that It was more than likely my handling of the dog that lead to these attacks. I set up some training sessions for me and Reia and a 2 week boarding for Reia. The sessions have improved my understanding on discipling her and her obedience is a testament to the great work that you and the other trainers have done with her (and me!).

Because the Belgian Malinois breed is notorious for their aggressive, protective nature, I wish we had taken her to Atlantic K9 before the above mentioned incidences. I think that I felt because she was so sweet and loving to our family, formal training wasn’t necessary. I will never make that mistake again. Any puppies our family gets going forward will be taken to Atlantic K9 for training and handling and as a safe, loving environment for boarding too!
