We contacted Atlantic K9 Training to help us manage our energetic and people-loving Whoodle (Wheaten Terrier/Poodle hybrid), Caymus, when she was 18 months. By breed and nature, Whoodles are non-shedding, loving, playful, sweet, intelligent, easy to house-train—a perfect dog for us! However, the terrier in her genes meant she was a “natural” jumper, not a welcome behavior around house guests or encounters on our walks; thus the desire for dedicated training. In addition, we wanted to strengthen earlier-learned obedience habits through positive reinforcement. Atlantic K9 to the rescue!
Based on research and recommendations, we felt confident in sending our pup to Bootcamp! Kathleen, Jenny, and team definitely were the right fit for our pup. In advance, from them we received clear expectations for the training; during the bootcamp period we received communication—photos and phone calls—about Caymus. Individual lessons prior to and in the month after bootcamp are especially valuable. Of course, along the way, we learned as much as the dog, with follow-through at home essential to maintaining “good dog manners and behavior.” We are confident in our pup’s response to commands and especially her polite greeting/behavior when she meets guests and strangers/dogs on our outings.
For us, the training Caymus learned at Atlantic K9 earns an A+! Thanks, Kathleen and Jenny.
